FFEJWORLD: everyone off the Net and push...

This is a test post of the emergency blogcasting system. This is just a test. If this were a real post you would be told were to tune for news and information. This concludes this test of the emergency blogcasting system. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

ffej.org, pressurewave.com and all related domains are still down we're now entering our second week of disrupted service, and we apologize. any mail you sent me (at my usual email addresses) in the past week did not get through. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

We are very sorry for the dissruption. We're working on a new server even as we type. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Let's see if the header has changed to match the new info. Yup, it has. Good.

In the future I'll this site as ffejworlds link log, and other experiments. It's created in OPML Editer, a cross platform (Wondows and Mac-although the Mac side is very OS 9ish, completely lacking the look, feel and features of OS X) open source combination of outliner, blog tool and instant messenger. One of it's new features is live network outlining, which let's you post live outlines for sharing, kind of like groupware. It's also a application developement package, and half a client-server system: it's kind of a trimmed down version of Userland Frontier. It's a little weird, a little flakey, fun and quite alpha. Pros: live updating of your blog, XML and RSS generation, builds a directory structure for archives based on date. Cons: can't change font or font size in editer, can't use system spell checker, no Mac look and feel, opens too many windows, very geeky interface, poor documentation, no linux version yet, can't really host your own outline/blog yet. Click here to access the object that's linked to this item.

I haven't tried the instant messaging or live network aspects yet. Ping me if you want to try it out.
