Rapidly Rising Food Prices 
I know it's a statement of the obvious but the rate is very sharp. according to some sources the rate of increase is double that of gasoline. When I read that I thought, "OK here's another example of the Bush tax cut ripple effect (more for me equals less for you)."
The rising food prices appear to happening globally.
What's the answer? Practice sustainability.
