An interview with Prof. Kerry Emanuel whose latest research, published in Nature Magazine in July, shows a global increase in hurricane strength and duration, which he correlates to rising sea temperatures linked to global warming. He thinks the big near-term problems are to do with demographics and a likely upsurge in natural weather cycles, and also comments that the biggest problem for the US will be economic, but for developing countries, it will be loss of life.
