David Byrne and Caetano Veloso doing a lovely slower accoustic version of Nothing but Flowers. They are handsome men. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

In The Lion King, there was a scene in which there were various representations of swaying grass on the savanah. One of them was achieved by a person having a hoop of grass suspended at ankle level, suspended from their waist by many strings joining the two cirlces. the person had only to twist their waists slightly to cause the hoop at their feet to twist in the opposite direction with much more amplitude. And as it turned the hoop also raised since the strings where shortening temporarily as the twist moved them sideways. Then the whole motion would unwind in the opposite direction with the grass falling slightly. I'm thinking of this in relation to Amy's post about the influence of CEO's. If you had more concentric cirlcles involved, I think the direction of twist would alternate, so each circle would be going in the opposite direction! Permanent link to this item in the archive.
