Wouldn't a wiki-based genealogy site make sense? A kind of global family tree would be possible. Okay I googled: there seem to be a few. Now I can't remember why I had that idea, especially since I'm not into genealogy! Every time I see news of the Australian cricket captain, Rickie Ponting, heriocally scoring centuries and double centuries, I think of his wife. Apparently she is his talisman, and he relies on her watching his every bat-stroke from the grandstand. I do hope it is a joy and not a burden for her... Politics is pretty brutal, isn't it? The Labor Party here has a leadership contest today, and while I would support the challenger, Rudd, I feel sorry for Beazley, who has been working away solidly, only to have the leadership whipped away from under his feet. Keep an eye on our PM, John Howard, as he finally engages in global warming. He is the master of wedge politics, and what he is doing is taking wedge politics to the international stage. Typepad has partnered with blurb, as way of turning your blog into a book. It's always been a cool idea, though I wonder how they handle links. But I can imagine it could generate blogs started and written with the specific intention of being turned into books. |
