I'm wondering what to do with my two main blogs. Should I amalgamate them? I feel a bit like a split personality at the moment. Could I import a blog like my typepad one here? But the opml blogs were only a temporary service, weren't they? Or should I migrate to a Wordpress blog? Does anyone have some advice for me on this score? 

Amy says she was hired for her first real job on the day Nixen resigned. I resigned from my first real job that day. I had been an editor for an Adelaide book publishing company called Rigby since the beginning of that year, which sounds much grander than it was. For most of my time I had been in the amusingly titled 'Instant Books' section, putting said instant books into house style. These were a 64 page, 5" x 3" format, and designed to be displayed in shops in those turnable wire racks like greeting cards. The one I have here says it cost 25c! They were pocket guides, or 'in a nutshell' approaches to a big range of topics. Here are some random titles:
Wigs and Hairpieces, Easy Meals with Mince (there were lots of recipe collections), Pools, Waterfalls and Fountains for the Home Gardener, Play from Birth to Six, Instant Metric Conversion, Highlight on Beauty, Facts about Cancer.
The quality of the information was higher than you might expect, but the job was not for me. I spent the next year or so making and selling leatherwork - bags, belts and so on, and working very part-time in a college library.
