Javajini's OPML blog

A short observation on "blogging" Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I've been a blogger for several years now. It started out with an edit-this-page site called Experiment 13031. I later created a Live Journal site called Extremely Random Jottings and a WordPress blog called Occasional Comment. I have a blog that I no longer use at tripod called Profiles in Persistence and a JRoller blog. The point here is that I've been enamored of the whole blogging concept ever since Dave set up the editthispage server and I've evaluated most of the technologies to create blogs. I like this one the best so far. It is just a better process. You work on blog entries in your private space and then it gets automatically reflected into your public space when you save it.

I also like the outliner at the core. I've been a fan of outlining since I played with Radio Userland before it went commercial. I've used Leo for creating my work diary for 3 years now but I don't like it as much as the OPML editor.

Thanks, Dave!

I finally fixed my Build RSS problem. It wasn't pretty. First, I renamed my existing OPML directory to OPML-OLD. Then I did a lot of unsuccessful things that I won't bore you with. Then I downloaded the latest OPML.zip and installed it as per instructions. I found that in order to run the new version I had to first log out of windows and log back in. I then ran OPML.exe, re-entered my same registration information, followed the procedure to synchronize with my data on blogs.opml.org and voila! I was able to use the Build RSS button again. Whew!

Good morning, world! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I've finally got a minute to catch my breath. When I got to work this morning, there were several fires to put out. I've put a couple of them out and the rest are just smoldering. It's nice to be busy!
