I am still totally swamped at work. I suppose it's inevitable that eventually, especially when you are swamped, you have to stop and mess around some. It is a great source of release of tension. I also find writing in my numerous blogs/journals/notebooks/wikis etc. is a source of relaxation.
I checked back with the TiddlyWiki site and there was a new version. Actually, there have been quite a few versions since the last time I downloaded it. In case you don't know what I am rambling on about, TiddlyWiki is a Wiki implemented in Javascript on a web page that you save to a local file. Then as you update it, you save the updates. It has the advantage of being relatively small (~127K) file that fits easily on just about any media that you care to use.
Anyway, it's a cool way to create portable hyperlinked documents without requiring the overhead of a database or even a web server. The one draw back is that, although it supports bulleted lists, it doesn't have all the benefits that we have all come to know and love with the OPML editor. So last night, I printed out the source to TiddlyWiki. It was over 100 pages long. I've got an idea for using this code as the starting point for implementing an OPML editor that lives in a browser. I'll be sure to post updates on my progress here.
