But of course you all knew that. I'm just finding out because I've had my head in the sand since before Christmas. Then there was the shock of coming back to work after over 2 weeks off. I've finally hit my stride and I'm coming up for air.

Speaking of cool, I spent a large portion of the time that I had my head in the sand playing with Del.icio.us. What a cool idea. I had an idea several years back for a web based reputation broker. You would set up this server and folks would create an account (beginning to sound familiar yet?). Then when they viewed a web page there would be an interface for them to rate it. Then, you could set up filters that said "I like the same types of thing that so-and-so likes, show me pages that he liked." The problem was, how do you get people to rate pages. Del.icio.us solves that problem by providing centralized storage of bookmarks (another service I've wanted for a long time). Oh and it turns out that if someone likes a site enough to bookmark it, that's good enough. A numerical rating is overkill. Especially if you add the popularity factor to the equation.

There are a lot of cool things that you can do with Del.icio.us and thanks to the REST api, you can try them out yourself. Too many toys, not enough time.
