I have noticed two things about NewsRiver in the ~24 hours that I've been using it. First, some sites just don't bother to summarize their content. Gizmodo and Lifehacker in particular post the entire contents of each post under the description tag. This makes it hard to skim the river for articles of interest. Dave does too but his posts are usually short enough that I don't mind them in the same way.

This leads to the second observation. I have trouble keeping myself from reading all the posts in the river even when they are dutifully summarized. This is a recurrent problem of mine. I had trouble learning to speed read due to the fact that I have trouble accepting less than 100% comprehension.
