I've abandoned the use of my iPod Shuffle as a USB Thumb Drive. As others have found, everytime you plug the shuffle into the computer it launches iTunes and wants to sync the iTunes library. Plus, it really holds my exercise music and it made little sense to borrow space for files. Yesterday I found an a SanDIsk cruzer 1GB drive for $45, so I've switched to it for this experiment.

I think I've figured out a workaround to install the OPML editor twice in the same place to have the two executables share files. For now, I'm just moving the databases when I switch computers, which is not elegant, but works.
