I am using a very cool feature of my blog to post to Twitter. To post to Twitter, I just type my post in my blog, then select what I want to post on Twitter, and click on a button in the text editor. Wow. How does it apply to education? Easy! If my students or fellow educators have Twitter, and monitor what I as twitting, they will receive my comments. For example, if I have a meeting at the central office, and I need to remind my students about their upcoming test, I could twit them a reminder. Also, lets say that teachers working on their lesson plans as they prepare for high-stakes testing, and I find a cool resource that might help students master the concept but do not have time to include the activity in my class. I could twit the tinyurl and my fellow teachers, that have set-up as my Twitter Friend would see the link. If they are using an aggregator, and have added my Twitter RSS feed, then they can have access to the shared links. My next question is how do schools teach teachers to use this when they have trouble getting them to read their email? Maybe this would be a cool tool to pipe to teachers on a smartphone. I know, Blackberry time. That is a joke. Not going to happen.  Permanent link to this item in the archive.

New York style pizza or Chicago style? Which is better? Just watched a show on TV about pizzas. To me, the best pizza is the one I am eating. About the only pizza I have trouble eating is what I refer to as school pizza. It is the pizza served in our school. Now, it is not all that bad. If I could eat the pizza immediately after it comes out of the oven, it would be fine. However, our meals come to our school in a 21 quart cooler. They are placed in the cooler to keep the food warm until it arrives at our school. I must not think the food is that bad, since I eat it almost every school day. Overall, the meals are very tasty. My favorites are smoked sausage, spagettii, hot dogs, and chicken fajitas. The salads are always fresh and are something I look forward to. Pizza, well, I will just eat it somewhere else.  Permanent link to this item in the archive.
