Let's talk Smallville 
TGIF!!! (Thank God it's Friday). Have been watching Smallville for the last week with my wife Becky. So far (til 1st half of season 2) we both like it a lot, although I think it's a bit too similar to Buffy/Angel. Let's analyze the character similarities:
| | Chloe = Willow: both do research, although one is more in the mystical realm. |
| | Pete = Xander: the funny guys. |
| | Clark = Buffy: hero with powers, full of responsibilities, cannot share the secret... Now this is common for many superheroes, and Superman was the first superhero. |
The Lana-Clark relationship is the usual tension before they finally get together, or do they?
I don't like Lionel Luthor, he should die soon.
Things that I like about Smallville:
| | Dynamic between Clark and Luthor. Very well played, although Luthor is a little bit too likable, he should be darker. We are told he had a dark past, but the only episode I've seen so far about club incident was another noble act by Luthor. Hopefully it'll get darker in the future. |
| | The Kent family. I like both parents, and the way they protect Clark. Reminids me of John Byrne's Superman. |
