And what do you get? The GP2X, that's what. I have one on the way. It's Linux on a battery powered handheld, meant for gaming (in the previous model), but plays all audio and video formats (it's Linux, y'see. Easier for people to create neat stuff for it ;) ) Everything runs from the SD card, i think. No hard disk. I bet's light. Hope so. Not networked, but could be via the USB.

Here's a quote from their page regarding developing for it:

The GP2X is totally open to development from anyone, commercial or amateur. Yes really. We're heading back to the classic Amiga days of development.

With a free GCC/Linux/Windows based compiler and SDK you really can begin to make software and games for nothing, not only that - we will offer source code and guides to getting started.
