Something just occurred to me. Are the clocks on this blog correct for your location? It just occured to me that it could all be relative to where your local pc clock (ie: London might be right for you). It shouldn't be.

NEW CUSTOM SLIMLINE BLOGROLLS! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

After seeing a few of my blogrolls around the place, I couldn't bear to see the poor little fellas ruining the cool styling put into some of the OPML blogs out there (eg: Donovan's Brain), so have a look at these and see the same file customised with different colours. Hop on over here for a how-to if you want one or just click the 'i' button. Hey look! I can even include other people's blogrolls too!

Hmm will this work? I'll update the bigger one eventually for all you styledemons out there. Maybe I should push the whole colour setup to an OPML file too? Hmmm.

TAGMAD Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Back in 2000 I bought a few domains for the wonderful world of WAP. I helped my brother build a WAP directory, which gets over 1million hits a month over mobile WAP phones to this day and I planned on building a whole suite of sites devoted to WAP.

I called it 'WAPYLON' :)

Since then, WAP is still going, but you're better off with simple XHTML these days I would say - for 'smart phones'. Anyway, the domains I bought were chosen for the ease of typing it in a phone. Have you ever tried to type in a full web url into a phone? Not fun.

So, I bought magtat.com, magpaw.com, tagmad.com and japdap.com and others. Now look at your phone keypad and see what I mean ;) - Chris Pirillo did a similar thing with gada.be recently.

The best one I still have I think is TAGMAD.COM, which if you go there now will tease you with a promise of 'future folksonomic fandango'.

I really wish I would have been able to attend something like tagcamp recently, which I imagine aligned itself around the tech/tao of tagging.

What I'm getting at is, I have alot of ideas for tagmad.com, but I would like to start talking to other people who might have similar ideas oand not all the time in the world. Hey, how about a collaboration? How very 2.0 of me :)

If you fancy a chat about stuff, drop me a line. Cheers! It could be fun!

Also, why are all the cool beans in the USA? There seems to be not interest whatsoever in Europe for new tech VC. Not a sausage. Hey!! We Europeans know what we're talking about too you know!

BTW: It's very hard these days for US companies to employ people from the UK since 9/11 (Podshow wanted to hire me - but they can't afford or have me, even if they could - they are sticking to USA people.)

Maybe its time to organise some London based events to see how warm the water is getting over here. More than a regular 'geekdinner' but something with a bit more 'track'. Let mw know what you think, or if you fancy working together on something like this in the UK.

FEED DUPLICATION Permanent link to this item in the archive.

There's a rapidly growing amount of OPML directories out there these days. As this happens, there will be an increasing amount of duplicated entries in various directories of RSS feeds. Some in the same directory and some copied across other directories.

This will need to be addressed at some stage I would think:

Shall we call it DUBSCRIPTION? ;)

LIBSYN IS VALID! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I got in touch with the guys at Libsyn the other day to help them get their OPML in order.

 Hey! Now it validates!!! Cool!!

FUTURE FOR BANDS IN A BUNDLE Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I heard recently, that in the not too distant future, record companies will stop signing up bands for album deals. They have finally realised what a waste of money that is.

People these days want videos, singles, ringtones, photos etc and possibly go see the band live if they get a chance. So, I have heard that Warners are looking at signing up talent for a certain amount of time, with a commitment to produce a certain amount of what they call 'BUNDLES'

Bundles will consist of what the fans want. A few singles. A video. A ringtone. And then duties to market the bundle via in-store appearances, live gigs etc.

I also heard that Apple recently got hold of the name 'Vingle' - possibly looking at selling video singles for the video playing iPod via iTunes.

"hey, I wanna be in a rock'n'roll bundle!"

HAPPY HALLOPML!!! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Hallowe'en Special

BTW: Feel free to chip in with comments and suggestions for the Valid OPML badge. I have lots of fonts and colours to choose from! ;)

FWIW: I never used to like the OPML logo, in all it's felt-tip glory. Now I actually like it. Familiarity is a strange yet comforting thing.
