I'm busy reading up about the Attention Trust, which Steve Gillmor and Seth Goldstein have set up. It's intriguing and something we should all think about as daily users of the internet. I've found myself pondering similar notions while surfing all these years, wondering who's watching. And why.
So, I have coined a new word today, which I don't believe exists : ATTENTROPY
As well possible connections with the word 'entropy' meaning 'the inevitable and steady deterioration of a system or society' or 'a measure of the disorder or randomness in a closed system', it has some pretty wild connotations when you look at what E.N.T.R.O.P.Y stands for in the computing world : 'Emerging Network To Reduce Orwellian Potency Yield'. :)
ENTROPY was developed as a response to increased censorship and surveillance of the internet. It is a computer program that allows users to access the "Entropy-Network" (or "Entropy-net"), wherein the intent of its architect(s) is to allow secure, encrypted, and potentially anonymous communication. The main reason for any degree of anonymity on the Entropy-Network is the fact that no records of any datum transfers are kept; in other words, there is no possibility of anyone, by consulting a record, discovering the identity of persons sending or receiving information.
I'm still working out what ATTENTROPY means... ;)

WINDOWS RAILS
If you've ever been interested in having a go at Ruby on Rails, take a look at this page and the demo links at the bottom. With the screencast demos and the XAMPP distribution of Apache, PHP and MySql it was very, very easy on a Windows box here at home.
I'll play with this until we get our sweaty palms on the OPML Community Server, eh? ;)
I was very impressed to see it all installed gracefully with PHP5, Apache and Mysql with all the great stuff included for graphics, xml and flash etc. ;) Nice and easy!
