Interesting that Microsoft didn't have their own tech in pipelines (but I suppose they do) for this Foldershare aquisition, hot on the heels of the OfficeLive announcement. They have some torrent-like tech going on Research, I heard. This Foldershare thing though. It reminds me of the OPML Community server and clients. Folders and files get synced when you save. It's just the control and security that's different isn't it? I'd be interested to know what tech they use for 'upstreaming'. Mini torrent/trickle grids between groups would be cool. When files are committed to it, the parts would slowly get shared between the rest of the group, slowly fading in.
Also, hey! did you see that OPML browser in the Yahoo! Maps Beta??! Cool!
I must also say that Yahoo! Maps is a dream come true. Thanks for using Flash Yahoo! Woohoo!!! Yeee hawww! This is going to get interesting for the KozOPML Browser (working title ;) )!!
Hmm.. update: Yahoo! Could we please have an OPML file for all these RSS feeds? Please? Pretty Please? With a smiley? :)
Stay tuned for a tweak to the podbat alpha for libsyn users. I just had a great chat with Dave from libsyn. I've got myself an account, so now I can see what needs to be done for them. Also, referring to my post below about bandwidth compared to the huuuuge amount of data goes through libsyns pipes, all I can say is 'wow! that's ALOT!'
