NOKIA 770 INTERNET TABLET. MMM 

Coo! A nice looking new device from Nokia. Wifi touchscreen device on a Linux based OS. Veeery interesting. Disappointing to see the reduced size memory cards used. Though it appears to have all the required hardware and software to do the job, they don't list 'podcasting' as a potential feature. It has the Flash 6 player on it, so I don't see any reason why an rss reading mp3 player can't be built for it quite easily.

With Nokia's experience in voice products, I'm amazed there's no recording application listed at launch. There's no 'phone'.

Standby time of 7days! Wifi or bluetooth continued use life of 3 hours. I wonder what movie player it has? Again, with a Linux based OS, there's potential for lots of open source stuff, if they make it open.

Maybe the Linux OS flavour they have created might allow for devlopment of one.

The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet's software is upgradeable and currently runs on the Linux-based Internet Tablet 2005 software edition. There is a planned launch next year of an operating system upgrade – the Internet Tablet 2006 software edition – that will support additional services, including Internet telephony (VoIP) and Instant Messaging.
