CONFIG?
OK. So I found a setting in config.root to allow directory listing, but the OPML is not being processed and rendered.
| | Looks like I'll wait for an update. |
THE OTHERS?
I see some others are cropping up, but they are set to 'local', so not available 'outside'. These people appear to be trying to run another (second) webserver too.
Anyone else?
| | NB: DAVE SAYS: "I've figured out how to easily get the OPML Community Server to work on port 80 without having to do an extensive test round, with no other web server required" |
| | THOUGHTS: Try switching Apache OFF. The OCS should handle the web serving now. Then restart your OPML Editor/Server too for good measure |
NEW COMMUNITY SERVER TEST
I have made the changes to the OCS and I get this :
| | Sorry! There was an error: The attribute "allowDirectoryListings" must be true. |
| | 1. I had to re-register to get the folders to show up in Guest Databases/www/hosting |
| | 2. I logged out. Changed community (to rpc.attengine.com again) And registered again. |
| | 3. Opening today's blog outline and saving created the new folders. |
| | 4. Today's outline does indeed exist and is being hosted from the same machine. |
| | Looks like we're veeery close! Probably a simple edit somewhere. |
| | 5. opml.server.folder still has an empty string when I checked |
| | But I noticed the correct location for www/hosting/kosso/.. in the opmlCommunityServerData.root entry for 'folder' |
| | I imagine this is where I will edit to have my server host the files from another partition, when we have this all strapped up. |
| | update: when I saw my new edits appear at changes.opml.org I noticed remnants of my previous registration ('attengine' ) I will go back to that user and see if that is the problem. |
| | update2: decided to trying editing dotOmlData.root blog/baseurl to 'kosso' |
| | update3: also noticed that the timezone was set incorrectly (Pacific : should be GMT here). fyi. |
| | update4: thinking about a full reinstall for sanity sake. (not only mine) |
MY NEXT PHONE
THIS Sony Ericsson P990 will be my next phone I think. 3G. Wifi. 2MP Camera. NO doubt compatible with my PSP sticks too for A/V. Niiiice.
I can finally get rid of the SPV M200 - but not totally, as the PocketPC and GPS stuff is still useful. But this phone has all I need. I had the P800 and P900 previously ;) Neither has builtin WIFI! Yummy!
VIDEO IPOD WARNING
If you happen to be getting a new video iPod this Christmas, remember to get a protector IMMEDIATELY. You will be shocked and disappointed by how easily it scratches if you don't.
| | How about a velvet pouch? ;) |
