AmyLoo has been talking about enclosures and using different file types. I would say that you can put any file type down the enclosure tag. (Check out the Makezine podcast feed for many files types)
I would say that it's all down to the MIME types that the recipient supports, irrespective of whether the 'podcatcher' supports it.
It's like, we can use FTP clients to download and upload Word documents, images, videos etc, but we don't expect the client to be able to view and edit directly.
FireAnt is great though, for supporting anything that a browser supports.
I can envisage alot of Flash based app which pull in OPML stuctures and RSS feeds with SWF enclosures which effectively 'build' the main Flash application on demand. Modular. 'Feedular'. These applications could be used to manage and filter the OPML and RSS feeds themselves.
Then, with SSE's (once I fully understand them) everyone can be the King Of Simply Syndicated OPML
