PODSHOW IN THE LIMELIGHT? Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I remembered Adam Curry had mentioned in a DSC a week or so ago about a partnership they were about to announce, but he didn't say who in the show - though he wanted to. He said that if techies looked at the links to the files, you could work it out.

So, in true techie style I pinged mp3.dailysourcecode.podshow.com and then did a whois lookup on the IP address which came back from the ping.

The result came back with Limelight Networks Inc.

They do the IT Conversations hosting, iirc.

So, I would say they might be providing the hosting for the Podcast Delivery Network. But is this a 'partnership' or are Podshow just another customer?

"The Genre Of Podcasting" by Dan Bricklin

YAY! SCOBLIZED! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

The weirdest thing was seeing it happen in my own aggregator! ;) Heh.

The Flash that the Scobleizer is pointing to is the Flash blogroll on the right of this page template. It reads the blogroll.opml file created by the OPML Editor used to write this blog. The OPML file is stored in the same place for each user. He asks for one too. As this version is for a single domain, specific to opml.org, I will look at testing out a customisable version for wordpress.com. All I need is an opml file for your subscriptions.

Oh and this isn't an RSS (micro)aggregator too, but that's possible too. With mp3 UPLOAD too! See http://lab.podbat.com woohoo!

Also, notice the large massive UBERFlash OPML reader supports OPML 'inclusion' too!! Infinite!

HEY! IT'S NOT FLASH! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Hi Dave. I noticed you saw the OPML reader. Just one thing though... apart from the mp3 player in the rss feed aggregator I have been fiddling with, there's no Flash there at all. I've been busy ;) Select it. See? It's all just text. Wahoo!

There is some simple (what I call) 'injection' of structured data back and forth into the browser divs via XMLHttp, otherwise known as AJAX. [Argh]

This method however, inspired by a simple example from Kevin Marks, regarding a 'microformat' 'they' call 'AHAH'.

All I am doing is utilising it (for the browsers which support it) to create opportunities for areas in the page which do not need reloading (and may ruin the 'experience' if it does reload) This will also make it easier to go cross-device/platform/whatever.

Lots of potential tools and toys brewing here. Feel free to drop me a line to chat more. Or how about another podcast? ;) It's long overdue.

It's aaall good and no, I haven't turned my back on Flash - all that stuff gets 'fed' by the RSS and OPML anyhoo! ;) Everyone's a winner! It's potentially mediagridalicious!
