MICROSOFT RELEASES SPARKLE PREVIEW 

Microsoft have got the ball rolling in tools for its 'Microsoft Expression Interactive Designer' - This will let developers create 'Sparkle' in Windows Vista's 'Avalon' technology.

Think of it a bit like Flash for the OS.

Allowing so-called 'eye-candy' Flash designers to become true desktop application developers - as I would say the design thought process and architecture will be quite similar with interactive and connected 'objects' feeling familiar to us Flash 'Wonkas' - who like teh eye candy

Maybe I'll build Scoble the 'Flashy Blogroll' he yearns for, for his Vista tablet. ;)

IE7 TO SUPPORT NATIVE XMLHTTP 

Looks like cross-browser Ajax support is going to get simpler! Hurrah! Now, let's hope the CSS (and other W3C efforts) support is also bang up to date.

It would make my life a whole lot easier.

Meanwhile: Here's an article describing how to do 'AJAX' with the XmlHTTPRequest object using Javascript and PHP. ;)

I quite like this, as well as the 'AHAH' method - which I use with PHP too, in order to get to another domain - if I want to load and parse an RSS feed or OPML directory, for example
