Since getting a video iPod... 

I have had a mixed experience of pain, joy, confusion and wonder, but best of all is CARTOONS. Channel Frederator, from the people who brought us Cow and Chicken and The Fairly Odd Parents, etc put together an excellent video podcast of animations they get sent from people, all edited together. So cool. So simple. So varied. Easy to forget how atomfilms used to be the only place you could get this kind of fix in one place. No more. Love it.

New Links Calendar Test 

I've been working on a few widgets for stuff we're building for our system. Here's a little test of a little bit of it. Notice the new addition to the right side bar? Lots to add to this. And SO MUCH potential. Each entry is timestamped, so there's no reason why these shouldn't be shownote entries for podcasts, as well as links to news stories. It would be very easy to combine all that data into one 'stream' of life, data and voices.

OPML Editor Wordpress.root oddness? 

I just had a look to see how I can assign my WP categories to posts made via the OPML Editor - right click on the title outline in the WP Workspace - imagine my surprise when I saw not my list of Categories - but (a shortened version of) Daves!!

Extending the Yahooniverse! 

Nice to see Yahoo! further enhancing their Flash based YahooMaps Beta with satellite imagery, extending the 'Yahooniverse!' [only 56 hits on Google so far - 21 hits on Yahoo! :) ]

Crossposting test 

Testing a crosspost to this blog using the OPML Editor and wordpress.root Tool.

Will test insertion of media types which native WP does not support - ie: Flash.

Trying my Flash OPML Blogroll from my old OPML blog:

Hmmm... it should be there above this. it isn't (on the Wordpress blog) . I imagine they must be stripping out the OBJECT and EMBED tags using the PHP strip_tags function - where it's easy to strip out tags you don't want from a post - and allow those you do.

Oh well.
