Dave Hints At Video Podcasters Solution Hmmm.. this sounds interesting. Anything to do with 'S3' I wonder? BitTorrent - bound to be ;) For the OPML Editor? (And if it is, will it have progress callbacks, to create nice progress bars?) Who is 'we'? Bram? and..?
After yesterday's frivolities, Second Life's 'grid' was attacked and took it down for the rest of the night.day. This poses some interesting questions raised here at 3pointd : 'Securing a User-Created Metaverse'
It looks like Yahoo! have noticed the investments (too) into original content - as well as searching and refeeding everyone elses - and has launched a new technology portal of content: tech.yahoo.com I think there will be alot more of this kind of thing appearing. Media properties actually owned by the people who want to monetize them. It will be interesting to see how 'good' it is. It looks like they're all jacked up to hook into technology product sales and/or reccommendations too, with the saved products feature.
ps: I notice how wide Yahoo pages are these days. Do people think it;s too wide these days? Or just right? - Having just said that, I notice they have a change screen width button which animates the width thinner - losing the product clipboard. Nice. I notice that the podcast.yahoo.com site does not do this. Another interesting thing is their main 'Today's Top Features' link clump is a big Flash banner which shows an ad first, beofre revealing the Top Feature options. Nice idea. It has a 'skip' button, so I supoooose that's OK.
Geek Dinner with Marc Canter tonight! Woot! I have some very interesting ideas I'd like to chat to him about regarding podcast archiving - if we get the time. Some podcast auto-archive ideas I have had. This is to try and stop the need for people to place their WHOLE back archive (Like Dave does in MCN) of podcasts in their RSS feeds. Some people have RSS feeds of well over 1Mb, which is just stoopid! [imho] ;)
Something profound about Second Life You can be anywhere and exist in one place. This is what 'real' virtual communities were always like in the old days.
