Weird Calendar bug in Scripting.com? Permanent link to this item in the archive.

This is really just a heads up for the author, but I noticed that on the calendar on Scripting News today that the 13th of June was in bold with no link, which should mean that I'm on that day - it's not - it's the 15th now. But when I go to a date in the past, the calendar does not show the links to days of that month in the future. See the 4th (my birthday)

It all works fine on our OPML blogs, showing future links while on a day in the past. No doubt Dave has a customized kickass version of his tools to post to SN. I thought I'd just point it out. It's probably an old Radio thing, which actually renders html to the server, instead of interpreting and rendering OPML 'live'.

BloggerCon Webcast Offer Permanent link to this item in the archive.

If someone can sit there in the sessions with a mic hooked to WinAmp with the shoutcast plugin (see the DJ section for the plugin) on the Windows pc, then I can provide access to one of our (or my) shoutcast servers to provide a live mp3 stream of the event. Best of all, all the kit and software is FREE. It's just bandwdith that becomes the issue, but there is naturally a cap on the amount of listeners we can support. We have a Linux machine that will be *fairly* redundant at that time.

It's very, very easy to set up and install the broadcast end on the Windows machine - I did it from a laptop in a hotel room once, and sent the audio to my shoutcast server, which I then tapped onto my Second Life land. Alot easier than I thought it would be actually. The shoutcast server also provides a web page to see all the stream details etc.

The shoutcast Winamp plugin will actually send ANYTHING you can hear though the soundcard - so hit play an mp3 and everyone hears that - but it also has a 'microhpone ducking' system so people can 'dj'. It has a toggle, so you can stay on the mic - perfect for the sessions.

Then after or in between the sessions, podcasts /promos / whatever could be played.

Let me know if we can be of assistance. Hopefully, I already have been enough for anyone else to run with this idea.
