Now is it just me, or do you also find it odd that you can't see an RSS feed link anywhere on www.dailysource.com (which appears to redirect to http://deltasierracharl.podshow.com ) ??? [ok, so it's on the archive page] It's reminding me of Apple's tactics in iTunes, to be honest. A closed network of content. Something's fishy about that, imho.
Coo! 27 hits on blogHUD now! One time chum, now evil Uncle, Winer has mentioned about pubDates in the future. I have built event calendar systems based on this. Allowing a client to post into the future, thus creating a calendar of events. These RSS items can then output the calendar microformat of choice. It's important that people use the correct date format for pubdates. Many dont use the RFC standard as specified in the docs. PHP can output a UNIX time stamp (the amount of seconds since Jan 1st 1970) into the right format using the simple code (where $time = the current Unix timestamp)
In fact that's just what I'll be doing on the blogHUD
New icons and feeds for the directories at podcast.com You should see a new icon over on the directories at podcast.com - it’s a green feed icon. We chose green, as it feels ‘FRESH’. When you click a green feed icon next to a directory folder, the site will load up all the most recent entries to all of the podcasts within that folder. Here is a permalink to one of the fresh feed pages Also, the results displayed by these icons and the ‘freshest feeds’ menu button on the left, provide you with an RSS feed link which you can use in your favourite aggregator to subscribe the latest podcasts automatically. Eg: Here is the RSS feed for the latest podcasts from the BBC Eg: Here is the RSS feed for the latest podcasts from NPR Eg: Here is the RSS feed for the latest podcasts from CNN Ah, the beauty of distributing content via XML. We love it! There will be some more very cool new additions to the site coming very soon and we’re working around the clock and the globe to get the doors opened up for you here, so you can start building ‘your own podcast.com’. Keep an eye on the development blog at podcast.com
I just found this great post from Eric Rice about how to approach and think about what Second Life is and how to go about being a resident there. Currently no hits on Google for blogHUD - hardly surprising right now, but I wonder how long that will last ;) blogHUD is a simple blogging system with loads of potential uses for residents of Second Life
