Mobile blogging 'camoby' style 

A couple of years ago, I knocked together a mobile blogging system, so I could report back to the BBC on things like CES 2005 and CeBit 2004. I just found it still working, and also amazed to find out that the browser built in to my mobile phone supports the input type=file tag, meaning I can upload through it.

Microsoft's mobile explorer has never supported this cool feature. I had to use one called Netfront, which did. As most devices like this have a built-in camera and recording facilities nowadays, I think it's about time that Microsoft got this feature supported.

All mobile browsers, for that matter. It helps us use the bandwidth and data that you like us using!

So, come on - do us all a favour ;) Enable file uploading for ALL DEVICES!!!

Mobile Camoby Podcast Test 

I just did a small test, using my 'camoby' mobile blogging system to upload an audio (.amr) file to the site. When the system went and saw that I had uploaded an amr file, recorded using the standard Nokia voice recorder, it set about converting it to an mp3 file. It worked!!! I'm tired now, and am off to bed. But stay tuned for something nifty round here ;) Can you feeeeel the RSS in the room?!

Condolences 

Our deep condolences to Todd Cochrane and family for their tragic loss. Join us in willing his niece a speedy recovery.

It just occurred to me that it was around year ago that my mother and nephews had a very serious car accident and turned my world upside down. Thankfully they all survived, but I think I know part of what Todd must be going through. We're really thinking about you all, man.
