Dave's Hiring Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Looks like Dave needs a developer.

I do alot (all) of what he needs, but a) I'm busy at podcast.com b) I'm in the UK and c) I'm probably not the 'professional type' he wants. :p Heh.

I'm glad it sounds like Dave is getting back into (publicly saying that he is) developing *something* - as the theme of posts recently haven't been as interesting as usual for me. Sounds like he's getting back in to one of his 'modes' of operation. That's usually good news for us all.

Alot of people think I don't like Dave anymore. That's just not true. On the contrary - I miss him and all the funny, innovative and insightful conversations we used to have a while ago, into the wee hours here in the UK.

Judging by the recent issues he's had with computers, I imagine he's not in Second Life. This would be a shame, as we could meet up there - virtually - and if I did anything wrong, he could bop me on the noggin with a cartoon anvil, if he wanted. Who knows - it might be cathartic. Heheh.

He could also have a looksie at the blogHUD - there's alot going to happen with that which I just know would float his skybox :)

OPML Editing Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Well, after nearly a year of work on Podcast.com I find myself at the next thing on the list - to revisit the Flash-based OPML browsers and editors I built last year.

We're still heading towards the proper beta, where people will be able to sign up and look for podcasts and manage their 'feed folders', along with a load of other useful stuff we've been brewing.

It seems like I have had my head in code for ages now - it'll be nice to get back into the Flash and the rich UI's it can do.

But alot has changed in the last year - there are so many ways we could *do* the UI now - which is ultimately why I chose to hit the data nut first

Lots of great apps could be built opon the underlying OPML and RSS at podcast.com so easily, using any technology.

Expect docs, examples and widgets etc soon.

Google Writely Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I'm just getting round to having a look at Google's (Writely) Document stuff. Looks very useful for my trans-atlantic collaborations.

But there's one thing I think it needs...

An OPML Editor. ;)

Does JotSpot have this built in? It looks like Scott McMullan wants it.

They should look at Marc Barrot's great work over at iJot. Hey - that name rings a bell! :)

Last night I found myself wondering if Grazr Mike is building an OPML editor, to go with his great OPML renderer/grazer. I'd also like to know if there is a way to totally customise the actions called when clicking links in Grazr. As who knows, I might want to use Grazr for the whole podcast.com folder browsing at some stage. Hmmm.
