Podserve Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Michael Arrington over at TechCrunch posted Bet Ready for PodServe (and more). PodServe has been a closed beta but if you click on either of the examples, you're in.

It's funny how unfocused a two and a half to three minute elevator pitch can be.

The New Orleans Mardi Gras public list is very cool. I just hope the RIAA isn't going to come and sue me for listening to the tracks.

Rowed 6029m in 30 minutes. It's a breakthrough, first time over 6000!

Green Tech Permanent link to this item in the archive.

WorldChanging posted an article about "green technology" as a major source of new jobs. Among the things discussed is a study they did for the city of San Francisco and a follow-up.

Lots of good links to other studies and a link to a Ten-Point Plan for Good Jobs and Energy Independence.

The San Francisco progress report says that Mayor Gavin Newsome has made a statement to the effect that Clean Tech is a part of the economic recovery for the city, blah, blah, blah. Whatever it means, one wonders what is going on beyond the usual bleading heart liberal, bugs and bunny freak, politically correct posturing.

It would be nice if there were something there.

Identity Woman does a great job of capturing conference session speeches (IMHO). Her notes on "the killer brief culture".

Note the numbers and her comments that "It is big business". 400 billion and 30 billion IT and 2 billion in Information Assurance. Remember Information Assurance? We were there. Symas pitched to that crowd four or five years ago.

Identity and access management are big topics here... [her bold-italics]. I believe it.

It's all the same Booz Allen Hamilton kool-aid they were drinking at the meetings we went to. It was fun, pitching in that big room in the Physics center at Johns Hopkins. It was not fun when it was obvious that they didn't want to hear about something so pragmatic. The facilitators were just barely able to continue to be polite.

Oh well. I wonder how to get just a few million out of the $400 billion. Certainly, some of that waste strategic investment could come our way <winks>.

Mr. Permission Marketing and on GoogleVideo ... how coherent.

He's a smart guy with a simple set of messages. They're valuable but it has a tendency to look the bubbles in the wake. It feels like all the stories talk about why something that has won did.

Or am I just jealous of someone making something that we think is hard sound simple?

Music shopping ... Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I had a need for some music. So I went shopping. I wanted Irish Traditional, so I headed over to Green Linnet. I spent the money but LOVED the experience.

On most of their albums, they have a stream of the whole album via Real Audio. They're not afraid of you trying the album. I listened to bits of twenty albums and bought six.

They're running a pre-Saint Patrick's Day sale, three for the price of two. Now, that got me going. But I'm coming in on their reputation. They didn't spend a dime to get me to come. So, they can afford to pass along that saving to them as savings.

It was fun and I can't wait for six new CDs.

WTF ... a Mashup Camp Summary that doesn't talk about Mashup Camp? Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Steve Gillmor and Dan Farber ... at Mashup Camp ... where the conversation is all about the death of the phone company.

At least Farber knows what he's talking about. Even if Gillmor and friends don't get it.

I guess Gillmor didn't know how to ask about Mashup Camp ... and didn't have anything to say about it. No surprises there.
