Today
Rowed 6Km in 30:11.3.. Medium effort.
Cloudy but not threatening. It was clearer earlier. This will probably burn off.
DirectorBlue: An example of sorts
I recently added Doug Ross to the feed-list. I forget what caught my eye. Yesterday's headlines made it clear I'd made a mistake. Today, we get "Clooney: Useful Dupe". Another Jacobite Neo-Imperialist.
| | Strangely, Doug frames Bush's underlying reasons, the reasons Doug feels support this conquest of Iraq as "nearly all classicly liberal". The next phraze is "which is to say 'neo-con". |
| | That is almost exactly the framing Paul Craig Roberts used for the Neo-Cons in his interview on Law and Disorder Radio (audio netcast). It's a great interview. He's very clear and articulate and the interviewers aren't directing the discussion too ham-handedly. |
Making Web 2.0 Pay
Commenting on a Silicon.com story, Joshua Porter (Bokardo) launches into violent agreement in a post title Monetize This!
| | Both articles leave you feeling taht many of these businesses lack fundamentals and are not viable longer term. Both admit that some interesting things are being done. Lamonica is a bit more optimistic about the net value proposition but is hardly dreamy-eyed. |
| | Web 2.0 and AJAX and the rest of the Poster Children of the day are coming to a table filled with wonderful options and capabilities. They're coming to a piece of everyone's world. Most will fail, unremembered. Many will be acquired and quietly evaporate on the shelves as the really good people are moved off to "more strategic" projects. |
| | Millions have already been invested in value propositions that will never justify the investments based on operational success. We lamented it after the fact in the DotCom bubble even though many warned about it in the day. |

The latest is here.
An Emergency Communications Success Story
of sorts. Merging the DC area FRS efforts with National SOS. It's a good thing.
