Bush ... diplomacy(?)
Suddenly, in the face of Seymour Hersh's articles, the President tells us he's going to rely on Diplomacy to resolve the Iran Nuclear issue.
| | Right after he got back from India and virtually promising them more bombs, we're angsting over Iran. Hmmm ... India friend, Iran FOE(?). Most of us believe that these moonbats will drop a nuke or two in Iran to obliterate their nascent nuclear capability ... for about two weeks. |
| | What we need is a government we can believe when they tell us something ... that isn't pulling Tonkin Gulf, Pearl Harbor, 9/11 tricks to get what they want. Besides, where are they going t come up with the Trillion Dollars this one will cost? The chinese seem to be running out of patience. So are the Arabs. |
The Culture of Conventions
There's a group of technology celebrities that seem to spend upwards of half of their time at an endless stream of conferences and symposia. It's like a Chataqua mentality.
| | But it's a private dialog / lecture series amongst an intriguing mixture of primary and secondary sources. The most interesting thing is that the commentators, those who don't actually produce technology, are in the drivers' seats. |
| | I suppose that real consumers, the mythical end user goes and learns something. The Conversations Network captures bits of the "wisdom" that falls from the mouths of the more repeatable speakers but there are hundreds of hours of speeches and panels that are not published. |
| | I wonder if we're all better off for that. |
| | Probably, don't you think? |
Of course, this might be a shotgun marriage ...
Red Hat buys JBoss because they have the cash(?) and, just possibly, some investor forced the issue?
| | Remind me to go find out who the investors were so I can add them to my "no deal" list. Not that that's all bad for JBoss, mind you. I wonder how much Fleury still owns. |

Broken clouds. NOAA says 70% chance of rain but it looks pretty spotty on radar.
