Is the next generation of media (podcasting, blogging) going to be just like the last? 
Are the media types going to make real headway with their scheduled shows, heavily advertised, and dominated with the intermediators talking to each other? Somehow, I hope not.
| | The future is more likely to follow authentic voice, the words of those who do things and are part of the game and not the observers. The wink and giggle crowd, two units removed from the action, are praying that there's a shortage of alternate, authentic, and participant voices. |
| | But then, there are those who watch the infotainment that is "network news" in hopes that Katie Couric will be "more perky" reading the same scripts by the same hacks as her predecessors. I suspect we're a half to a full generation from convincing the masses that the networks are selling soap on one hand and pimping for the sponsors (making sure nothing gets onto their media that could annoy a sponsor or the government). |
| | It will be amusing when the FCC goes after Howard Stern over satellite. Some collection of fundamentalist Christian ministers with a few thousand parishioners each will find a sugar daddy political contributor to club the FCC into getting onto Howard's scatalogical case. |

Fat City for Paul(?)'s birthday. Didn't ask so I ended up with a cinnamon bun and angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Jordan got a walk ... poor little guy.
Rowed 10,000m in 49:11.6. Leisurely but HR stayed below 140.
