Speaking of tags Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Are the OPML Editor categories really more like tags? We can create categories in Today's outline. We post an entry, and assign a category to it. External to the database, the category is only associated with the entry in today's rss feed, right? It is not in the opml file. So is it really a category?

It does not strike me as a category in the sense of say a "Wordpress" category, but as a tag generated for search engine juice. Bland category naming convention results in watery juice? Or should you use both? I guess now that I think about it Worpdress categories can be tags too. They did go to using /tags on the .com flavor of the app. Does this circular thinking make any sense?

Categories are for organization, tags are for additional meta info. In the OPML Editor the category ends up as an attribute in the rss file only. To me it seems more like a tag.

Yeh, I do know that Tom It was more me using the Oh! Editor as a test bed (cause I knew it had numerous validation errors) while showing a friend some of the fun stuff.

I was hoping you were still hammering on rendering, glad to hear. The teasers died down lately, so I wondered. Hope maybe I can jump on a beta when you are there.

Opera First Look Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Opera 9.10 - Generally runs faster than the Fox. Less hardware hungry. The 2 latest iterations of FF crashed, a lot for me (and others). So far no crashes with O. Opera has a built-in "Feed" reader that is decent for quick drive-by feeding, but certainly not a match for rolling on the river with "NewsRiver".

OPML Editor: RSS Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Yesterday I rambled so much stuff I forgot to update (Build RSS), in the Oh! Editor. I can go back to yesterday's opml file and update or edit it if I need to, but cannot build the RSS for it. Hey, new name for the OPML Editor, Oh! Editor.

So that stuff never gets fed to the masses, is that what yer telling me? Well yes, you only get one day of RSS feed. But you do get to decide when to build it, and if you BUILD IT, they will come. It is not the first time I and others, (you know who you are) have forgotten to "Build RSS" here at the ranch. It's OK though, as the content wasn't all that hot.

You can't handle the truth. Highly caffeinated today.

Ramblr, Browser-ing Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I have been using Firefox since V0.7. Sorry, but V2.0.0.1 and V2.0.0.2 are not up to the usual high standard. I was going to go back to V1.5.x, but support there will be short-lived. Today, I switched to Opera. Very sad day.

Ramblr, the Twitter Killer Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Heh! Just kidding. I tend to ramble. I am not much of a Twit, or Twitter-er. Hey kids, don't twitter the day away. Too bad, Ramblr.com IS for sale, but is the price too high?
