Good God I Love My OPML Editor! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Just had to say that out loud.

Back to organizing my life now . . .

OK, I confess. I was laughing . . . Permanent link to this item in the archive.

...nervously . . . [note to self, use of tongue-in-cheek emoticon may be required when least expected!]

Actually, opmlPete, I think you should laugh. [CosmicDread]

And now I'm laughing harder! Ahoy! Har har!!

We have one icon which means two different things. Oh oh!

Using the standard right-click "Add Link..." command generates this icon. The URL can link to a web page or to an OPML file.

When we encounter this icon - say in a buddie's instant outline - and consider double-clicking on it we don't know what to expect. We'll either be sent to our web browser to view a web page or an included OPML file will expand in place in the outline in OPML Editor.

I don't like not knowing what's going to happen when I double-click.

I think that inclusion is very special and that it deserves its own icon.

One final, related problem: if you create a link using this particular Add Link command make sure you do not indent any text underneath. If you do and later collapse the outline you will not be able to expand it again. Doh!
