Thanks to Lisa for the heads up on this one.

 CommentCasting

Time shifted audio presents a problem that live radio has always avoided. Unlike streaming broadcasts, the show has already happened in the past, leaving listeners who wish to contribute without the means to do so.

Way cool and and directly related to something I thought the CBC should work on as they move to expand their podcasting services. The only headache would be dealing with people posting SPAM and other crap. Perhaps they could subscribe to a feed of incoming comments, quickly spot check the audio comment then hit a 'yay' or 'nay' button. Approved comments would go the site and into a feed to which the audience could subscribe.

Dave on his admiration for one of his "teachers".

I'm willing to cut a guy like Nelson almost infinite slack, because I so totally appreciate what he has done for us, and for me.

Of course Dave identifies with Nelson and I'm sure sees himself in a similar light: a visionary and inventor with whom a lot of people have difficulty relating on a personal level.

I feel much the same way - and have used almost this exact wording - about many "difficult" artists. Some of them are selfish from time to time and have poor people skills but look at what they give us. I do not necessarily equate the person who is the artist with their art.
