Doctors are hopeful that this will give his lungs more spacce to breathe. 2/9/06; 9:49:35 PM by RB three nurses are here hooking his ng tube up to some sort of suction machine.2/9/06; 9:29:12 PM by RB they say it can pump crap out of his stomach. I don't get it. the daytime nurse (male) said he has the same disease as J. - Lymphoma. Nurse- Levisa workst 'til 11pm. 2/9/06; 8:58:11 PM by RB offered to talk to colombian family to explain if necessary told mom to try to call the relatives again and relay that info asked nurse if it's time for more morphene. She said no more pain meds are ordered because they think his sedation may be part of th eproblem. J. doesn't like them and want nothing to do with them but I have to notify them I guess. Paula even made a disclaimer about it saying cnn doesn't want to 'add fuel to the fire.' nurse gave him special infusion thingie of antiboitocs. just finished 2/9/06; 8:00:04 PM by RB sleeping, thankfully 2/9/06; 7:32:56 PM by RB terrible situation 2/9/06; 6:07:16 PM by RB nasal tube to do do something do to with stomach- oxygen on face morphene finally lots of discomfort they had to restrain his hands to the bed cuz he kept trying to remove the tube and the mask unbearable dr. stein is here 2/9/06; 2:27:31 PM by RB says pulse is high 135 pulseox is ok 96% pressure is good still unresponsive ostly but still responds a little nurse said he is ?tachycardial? ordered stat chest xray still waiting for pain meds 2/9/06; 2:20:25 PM by RB Called Dr. Stein. 2/9/06; 2:02:53 PM by RB he said he would be here in 2 hours. i said can he order pain meds right away he said that he has them ordered but J. keeps refusing them. i said that he's not able to answer the question now because he won't wake up. he said, "are you telling me he's unresponsoive" i said yes he said he would call the nurse I think he's bordering on comatose. 2/9/06; 1:31:52 PM by RB at noon I came and he was breathing heavy not awake. Nurse told me was unable to give morning meds cuz J. was not awake and wouldn't wake up. I was able to rouse him enough to swallow his meds
tried to get him to eat but coldn't even move lips enough to take the food he's moaning as he sleeps; seems to be in a lot of pain
edema is bad not looking good |
