OPML - What is this OPML Thingy? 8/20/05; 11:25:43 PM by DW I left the Road Show tonight, thinking about a lot of things. I didn't even turn on the radio tonight. I drove home in silence, watching all the thoughts and ideas buzzing through my head. I'm not even sure that I can articulate what it is that is percolating in me. I have the urge to record what I can, and I also have an urge to let it be for tonight, and maybe tomorrow I can put it into words in a better way. 8/20/05; 7:53:00 PM by DW Woot! We are blogging Live from the OPML RoadShow! Dave just demo'ed how to change the header graphic He is now taking a peek behind the scenes and showing how the updates get rendered into html. Tim Bishop is sitting next to me blogging as well!!! Cool!!! Dave will now demo the structure of the opml file - a dialect of xml David is talking about how this could be eventually ported to Unix/Linux by other community members who come along and develop the port. I agree, this is one of my areas of interest Amylou is watching. Hi Amy!!! Dave is in fine form tonight, he is jovial and entertaining, and a regular guy. We have a reporter from the San Francisco Chronicle here tonight, he is Tom Abate. Thanks to M. Mason for being so kind to provide his name. Ms. Mason says that Tom is science writer and a good guy. I agree with her. He was one of the first to catch the jist of some of what Dave Winer was trying to communicate about the power of OPML. Steve Rhodes is here blogging too!! Hi Steve!!! One of the uses of how OPML - (and I am paraphrasing now,and inserting my own words, but here is the basic idea) The SF Chronicle guy questioned this - How to link data from subject matter experts into a directory where the "linked-in" subject matter experts can update their own areas of expertise and the updates occur all along the way up the chain. We got some mmmmm's on that one as the audience has grok'ed a point. Wireless Connectivity is spotty here, the connection keeps dropping... Someone asked about OPML Search
Studying Frontier while the girls sell cookies and lemonade I will be hanging out at the corner for the rest of the day reading my copy of Radio Userland Kickstart by Rogers Cadenhead. Until another book comes out, this is the book to read, if you want to learn more about the Frontier development environment that Dave Winer used to build the OPML Editor. We have Cookies and Lemonade!!! We have baked the chocolate chip cookies (YUMM!), and we have lemonade. Now, we are off to the corner to hang out and sell em! Heh, if we don't eat em first!!! I was roaming around the opml changes blogs and I saw this. Check out Jerry Andrews' OPML Blog Graphic. His blog is named Cubicle Farming. Heheh...It made me laugh... |
