Templates are intact Permanent link to this item in the archive.

You just have to open the template file, make a change, or add a space on a line, delete the space, and save it. Viola!

Same with the blogroll...

Looks like the templates are not there, but they in fact, are intact in my Community menu. I guess they just aren't being rendered yet. Okay by me, I am used to being in 'test mode'.

A very good article by Lisa Williams about her experience creating H2otown, a local citizen's news blog. There is so much good advice in this article about the joys of blogging. It has inspired me to look into what I could do to locate local bloggers here in Contra Costa County to produce a similar blog. Thanks Lisa!!! Great Article!

There are so many gems from this article, but Lisa has captured the life of nerdism with this one:

"A nerd is a person who can sustain attention in something long after a normal person has lapsed into a coma. Patiently, the nerd sits, until the object of its attention cracks and reveals its strange and fantastic inner life."

This statement is so funny and also describes one aspect of me to a tee. Many have observed my ability to do just this. That is why I am such a good fixer of complex computer systems when they break. I Contemplate the system, until I GROK it. If you happen to find me in one of these rarifed moments, just leave me be, I will be back sooner or later with the answer.

I think nerds are the Zen Masters of our time...

Thank You - Lisa Williams for OPMLFan Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I have always wanted to thank Lisa Williams for compiling OPMLFan. It has continued to be a useful compendium of OPML Blogs and OPML information and was one of my favorite stopping points on the OPML train. When she went awol due to personal reasons, I must admit I missed her doses of humor and writing. So, Lisa, if you are watching, I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to you for OPMLFan.
