My Blog is Looking Spiffy Now! Now that I have the hang of the new CSS template, the blog is looking better and the links are more functional, cool! New Version of Optimal is Released! I wondered why Dan was so quiet lately. Now I know! He has a new version of Optimal. River of News Ad Spam filter A feature that I would like is an Ad Spam Filter. As I watch my 1000 news items load into RoN, I see that there are up to 20-30 ad.doubleclick.com type urls that are embedded RSS advertisments. I looked at the entries in RoN and I found that in the Salon RSS feed is where most of these are coming from. I suppose that I could just unsubscribe, but sometimes I like the content, but not the ads. I would like a filter that removes these advertisements. I think this could be done by detecting certain URL's that we all know about and filtering them out, during the load of RoN. Okay, Now the Delete Works Strange behavior, but I opened up AggregatorData.root and removed the 7,900+ trash items. I believe that this was a remnant of decafbad's River of News tool that I downloaded and then subsequently removed due to slooooow screen updates. Cannot Delete Items in River of News Hmm... Something is up with my River of News. I cannot remove items by hitting the delete button. |
