Eric Kidd has brand new experimental installers of the OPML outliner. Are you willing to help him test them? Go and try them out! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

OPML Roadshow Goes to Toronto -- Dave will be giving a demo August 2, with hosts Tucows and Ray SlasinskiPermanent link to this item in the archive.

Boris Mann is test driving the OPML editor and says something tantalizing that I don't completely understand: "But this begs the question, what are we building here? I think this could be done with Jabber, the Publish/Subscribe JEP, and passing back and forth OPML document fragments." The idea of people doing instant outlines combined with the "presence" indicators of IM? What would come out of the confluence of these features? I feel a strange tingling... Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Spicy OPML Roll: "The weird thing about using the OPML editor for blogging and for other outlining is that in making the blogging feel effortless, it also feels like you're always publishing to internet." Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Don Park: "OPML is a simple, widely used, yet often misunderstood, XML format created by Dave Winer. IMHO, misunderstandings stem from overexposure to traditional ways of using XML." Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Blithering Idiot: "Oh, so THIS is where the blogs come from. I feel so dumb. So incredibly dumb." Nah. although BI has a *great* description of how to get an OPML blog up and running for the first time.  Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Blithering Idiot needs to meet Idiot User from Hell, don't you think?

John is having a problem with his OPML blog that I find really mysterious. I've looked at the page using View>Source thinking maybe it was a badly broken link, a problem in HTML. But now I'm not sure. Any OPMLheads have any ideas? Let's get John on the rails again.

Chanson: "I drank too much ice tea at dinner last night and ended up being up until 2am. Stupid me. Then Ben (my 7 month old son) work up at 4am. I was up until it was getting light and then finally went back to bed. I almost wept, but luckily I fell back asleep and slept until 8am. Today turned out to be a great day even though I had very little sleep." Ooh, I've been there. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Bob Stepno has an OPML blog! Excellent. It's fun to see my friends arrive in OPMLville.

Is OPML Addictive?  Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Mike Houser: "The biggest difference in blogging with the OPML Editor is that it just seems a lot easier to do quick hit blog posts. If you read Scripting News you can really see where that format comes from. This blog tool is an extension of how Dave works." Yes! Tools profoundly influence styles...think about the stuff you put on the web before blogging tools. Each new tool comes with a different vision of the possible. Permanent link to this item in the archive.
