Dave: "Instant Outlining is not like RSS. In RSS you can subscribe to 100 feeds, no problem. Some people subscribe to 1000 feeds. It's a bit of work to keep up with them, but a human being can do it. But with I/O, the most you can do is four or five. It's a workgroup application, not a global one. With a new tool, learning how to think about the tool is just as important as learning how to use it. It's important not to superimpose ideas from other tools I know about, but to be open to ideas about what this new tool is really for. Richard just quit smoking. Fantastic, hang in there! OPML Fan covers news surrounding the OPML Editor and the blogs.opml.org community. How to report a bug in the OPML editor. Ok, back to work on the OPML Editor manual. I find it very relaxing and refreshing to slow down and go through everything in an organized way. Koan: "Having added in a new batch or blogs, I'm about to decide whether any that are in there are well past their "sell by" date. Bottom line - I'd like my blogroll to represent my personal recommendations, nothing more. I don't claim that every good or worthy blog in the world is on it - but I'll try to make sure that everything that *is* on it is worth a look." John Soper: "Ok, WHERE DO I SIGN UP?? I'm ready to PAY for my OPML Blog hosting. I'm ready right now to make this THE WAY I blog from now on!! This software just makes me happy!! Amy: "I wonder if saying things like "smart ass" in my podcast would cause my game not to be used in schools. I'd think if a school would assign J.D. Salinger, it would have to be willing to lighten up." ArchiTek: "Started messing with my css layout and got some stuff done. I need to hook ArchiTek up to blogs.opml.org and even more important I need to explain what that would mean." Wow. You really need to look at this one. Spicy OPML Roll: "I just flipped the script! The "New Entry" button adds an item at the top of the outline." It's humbling and exciting to be involved in the OPML community. So many smart people knowing so much stuff!! Soon I think they will encourage me to breach the wall of the code itself and start playing with it. Wow! Dave Pentecost is working on Weird U.S. for the History Channel. Neat! |
