I just want to point out that while in the middle of writing today's posts, I got the Blue Screen of Death on my laptop (which has been flaky for reasons that have nothing to do with the OPML Editor), and I thought, "Damn, I just lost all those posts, I'm never going to remember what I did." You know what? When I fired up the OPML editor -- they were still there. Applause! Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Mike Houser: "Nintendo's new wifi service is up and I hopped on with Mario Kart DS last night..." I just got a new PSP and I'm thrilled with it. My husband has a DS, though, and it is also very cool. In fact, I said, ok, one trip around OPMLville before I fire up the PSP, because if I fire up the PSP, there goes the evening...  Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Ben Christen: " The beautiful thing about all of this is OPML and open standards! Switching back and forth between newsreaders is as easy as can be! " Ben's right about the data portability. Imagine how few different feedreaders there would be if it were hard to move subscriptions. The total creativity of the RSS scene would really drop. Think of how many online services still have your data chained to a wall in the basement. Why can't I port my Amazon wishlist? Can I move out of Flickr at the end of the month if I find another photo service that's better? When I think of those in contrast to OPML I feel thankful. Permanent link to this item in the archive.
