Betsy has a pretty complete list of people at last night's geek dinner. Dan Bricklin was there and demoed WikiCalc, a program that creates multiuser spreadsheets online. Dan also had some cool blinkenlightzenlotsabuttons, and used them to record a podcast from the dinner. Dave, who organized the dinner, made a movie of Dan Bricklin demoing WikiCalc. Thanks for being the crystallization point, Dave, I had a great time. David Berlind was at the dinner with a big camera and took a bunch of pictures. Does he have a Flickr account? Wait, Dave has a link. Bela Labovitch on last night's Geek Dinner: "It was so interesting to see the range of things Geeks do for a living - from running Yoga studios to being full time mothers. As well as the range of things Geeks do for fun - from flying helicopters to running bakeries." Bela is the lead developer at RSS Labs, which makes OPML Search and OPML Workstation. Amyloo: Hello Cambridge Folk...can I have a bite of that chalupa? One of these days mobile teleconferencing is going to be a total no-brainer, and Amyloo will be able to attend distant Geek Dinners...but I think she'll still have to get her own chalupa. Sven Latham: "Today I have been mostly fiddling with OPML." The Law of the Internet, a course at Harvard Law, shows up on OPML Search as an outline. Wow. Alex Williams: "More people will discover OPML as they finally get that it can serve as a galaxy for millions of feeds. All you need is a magic bike to get there." |
