The destroy-MySpace-and-take-over-the-world plan has come to fruition! I've produced some code to let me embed music in to OPML. To see how that works, click on Music, then choose Lovespirals. You can then pick one of their tracks and listen to it. Apologies to Lovespirals for experimenting with them without permission - I just happened to have those tracks to hand in iTunes (and I listen to the Chillcast). I'll release a full set of tools on Tuesday, as well as start getting musicians involved. If you've got any ideas of musicians who might want to get involved, email their details to me (but don't expect a response before Tuesday: I'm extremely busy). ![]()
There's lots of AJAX Tutorials out there. ![]()
I haven't really had a chance to play with all Google's new toys. SiliconBeat explains what's going on. ![]()
Ed Brayton: "Roy Moore is not your average Christian, he is a genuine and actual theo-fascist. He really does believe that judges should ignore both statutory and constitutional law if they conflict with his interpretation of "God's law". And he really does believe that gay people should be imprisoned or put to death. And yes, I do believe that anyone who subscribes to such a position can fairly be described as an ignorant bigot." ![]()
Business 2.0: "Start sharing those lists, and we might all become a little bit smarter." ![]()
Lee: "After six years of Bush, with these scumbags spending like there was no tomorrow, the ONLY THING which could get them to even consider cutting spending was the threat of a massive, impending loss at the polls. Maybe after that loss takes place they¹ll get together and figure out that being the Christian Socialist party isn¹t going to win them any more elections." ![]()
McD over at Amy's comment board gets Gillmor right on: "Search is NOT dead. And neither is slinging BS for the heat it generates."
The real question has to be: is Gillmor dead? or does the death of a person require the prodution of a death certificate while the death of technology simply requires a journalist to say it on a podcast and it thus becomes so. ![]()
Oh my, Dave has gone for the MySpace design ethic. Scary. I mean, good work, Amyloo, but, erm... Okay, it's gone now, and it was all in a good cause that lines up with my evil plans. ![]()
I've changed the template a fair bit in the last twenty-four hours. Here's what we've now got.
I've added Blogads. These are fixed ads for a variety of things, including books, events, websites and the suchlike. You can buy these ads, and they are quite, quite cheap and a great way to support my spendthrift mobile data charges.
I've moved a lot of the sidebar content in to the Grazr window, including testimonials and the biographical material.
There will be a few other little changes to make things look prettier which I'll sort out later. Now I must work!
Slip and slide while the beast rises ![]()
This has been sitting in my aggregator for a while now, but Lindsey's article on young men and erectile dysfunction is interesting, but this is truly one of the few blog posts where the comments are the real gem.
My favourite having to be John's very Bill O'Reilly-style comment: "Yet another impotence story, eh? You won't be content until you emasculate every last one of us, will you? You must want us to lose all of our wars. Why do feminisits hate America?"
Yes, ladies and gents, we've gone from talking technology and politics and the like and now we're talking about willies and the young men attached to them who can't get it up. If you like this sex-themed content, I can put together some entries on the Mile High Club and some bizarre stuff that various chronic anime nerd friends keep on emailing me.
