Hopefully, the insurance will pay for all the toys you've lost, but a few contributions should make it so that you can take your family out for a meal or spend it on a new, cool bit of hardware. 

Apple has a returns programme for MacBook Pro batteries. I've already had a battery replacement, but they didn't ask for the not-working one back. So I've put the old one in, and will hopefully have two working MBP batteries. That'll make the flight I'm trying to book a little more enjoyable.
