My new blog is here

Drew has built a prototype of a hCard signup tool. It's just a test, but this type of thing might eventually realise the dream of auto form-filling. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Having dismissed networked entertainment, I have to point to this excellent discussion of Foucault over at Ask MetaFilter. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Dave Slusher has an entry on "Ze Frank Vs. Rocketboom" and has had lots of reaction from the podcast nutcases. In the real world, success brings you money. On the Internet, success brings you nutcases. The thing which annoys me about The Show is that I have to watch it on my iPod - it doesn't play well on my computer, because it sticks an ad up at the end of the episode, which means I can't put it in a playlist - and the play count (which my iTunes set up relies on) doesn't increase. Turn that off - it annoys the hell out of me. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

The American Conservative has an excellent article on the intellectual poverty of young Republicans: "The campus Right has almost always been more activist than intellectual, just as the wider movement has been more political than cultural. But where once students were at least familiar with the names Kirk and Weaver, or Mises and Nock, today they look to Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter for guidance. They're little acquainted with the wisdom of the contemporary Right's founding generation, and it shows." Permanent link to this item in the archive.
