My new blog is here

If you are a Mac user, snap this up! Interarchy really is the best FTP client ever. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Offensive Mango on LiveJournal says of Twitter Tube Tracker: "I've been using it for a couple of weeks and can confirm that it's more accurate than the service the London Underground website itself offers. I've used it to avert morning transport disaster twice." That's what the Internet's all about - helping people get to where they want to go with less problems.  Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Tom Croucher thinks TextMate is great. I do too. It's really been a big conversion experience. It's great to be able to hit Apple+R and get a script to run - makes debugging Perl, Python and Ruby a blast. I'll still be using oXygen for editing XML and XSL (etc.), but for scripting TextMate really is a fantastic tool. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

TUAW are covering mobile USB power devices. I charge up everything from my laptop, so USB power is an important thing for me. The USB AC charger is neat - I'd like one with multiple plugs (UK, Euro and USA for instance), because I absolutely hate plug converters. I've got a device with an American plug and it's a pain to keep it plugged in. UK plugs are so the best design. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Dean Maslic has created a tool called GrazHoppr, a Java-based OPML and RSS browser for mobile - it's basically very much like Grazr but designed for Java compatible mobile phones. I've downloaded it and am testing it on my phone. You basically install it, add any OPML or RSS feeds to a bookmark list and they then get downloaded in a browsable form. It's not massively quick, although on a 3G connection it may go a little quicker than on my GPRS connection. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Sheila pointed me to The Man in Seat Sixty-One, a site dedicated to train travel. It's great. I hate flying - it's uncomfortable and you have to go through crazy, mad security. This site explains how you do plane-free travel with things like transatlantic freighters. Cool or what? Who needs deep vein thrombosis and global warming? Permanent link to this item in the archive.
