It sounds to me like the problem might just be the log file. If archiving the log file caused the server to run "that" much better, then the actual "load" on the server wouldn't be the issue.
I've been seeing a lot of people "complaining" that their site isn't showing up in the "changes" list. I just wonder if they're waiting long enough or refreshing. It looks like Alan Carr might be headed someplace with his template... Great to see the Mac version of the OPML editor working so good, already. I honestly didn't expect to see it for a while, though. Not that it makes a difference to me (a Windows-Only guy). We could definetly use more people to add bug reports and feature requests to the OPML Editor Wiki. We definetly need somebody who knows Mac. Make note of the new address, and spread it around. This has been a really busy weekend for me. I haven't had much time to get things done. The regular job was taking up all of my time. Now that the weekend's gone, I should be able to put a little more effort into "my own" projects. I think I've been neglecting my own blog. It sure feels like it, anyway. I haven't posted, over there since last Thursday night. Damn! July has been the busiest month ever, over there, too. Even though the traffic fell off over the last few days, I'm truly amazed at the amount of traffic that Webfeed Central is getting, with it's "self admited", lack of exciting information. It's honestly busier than PodcastHost, which is crazy. I should have another new domain name, soon. Shanti Braford (yes, that Shanti Braford) has offered to transfer a domain to me that will have to be paid for again in three months. He hasn't used it, since he registered it. I'm just waiting for the transfer, now.
It would be "really" cool if there was a way to list every one of the new blogs that have been created with the OPML Editor, rather than just watching the pings. I have a feeling that the templates will be the next big thing that people start to tweak, and the blogs don't ping when the templates are changed, unless the author announces it. I'm sure that there's a lot of other ideas that people have for this. I want to see the ideas start happening. What ideas are out there, and what else does this program "need", in order to make those ideas start working? |
